The GOP Triple Play
New poll #s among the most consistent voters have been faltering.  We suggest that the President convene a Republican leadership summit at the White House or at Camp David and exit such a meeting with a unified agenda and gameplan... especially on Tax Policy / The Economy and Security Concerns.   Voters want to hear that Republicans are united toward the cause of securing the U.S. Border first as Job #1.  The American people want an iron-clad and super-secure southern U.S. Border.  They want to hear the President say with House and Senate leaders by his side that we will do what it takes - inclusive of walls or virtual fences to fully secure the border.  This will bolster the House - which is in severe jeopardy of being lost.  The Senate we believe is safe exactly because it is more moderate and buffered by larger state-wide constituencies.  Any emphasis on placating illegal immigrants or smoothing the way for such immigration needs to be delayed until after the election.  They only want to hear the emphasis on "Security First".  The goal toward lower gas prices was achieved, but now the focus must be on explaining the Successes of the Economy at large:  low unemployment, record home ownership (especially minorities), low tax rates, steady growth tied to Tax Policy that pays down the deficit.  Voters though need charts, graphs -- proof of some kind.  And they need it directly from the GOP as the media will not be putting any positive spin on any Republican accomplishments.  They are ignoring it altogether.  Finally -- Voters need to be able to "Rally around the President":  It is time to publicly ignore the back-room UN diplomacy and the notion of "world opinion" at large and focus on what Americans want to hear and need to hear from their President.  They want to hear the President verbally take on Iran & North Korea & Cuba and to verbally defend Israel.  The President needs to make it more personal... a stronger statement (repeated often) that reminds us of his rhethoric in Sept 2001 and the previous State of the Union addresses early in his 1st term.

If a Showdown is threatened or imminent, Americans will be more liklely to vote GOP.  The President's past leadership will be recalled, and Americans do feel safer with National Security concerns securely in the hands of Republican Leadership.  But this requires direct rhetoric from the President in stronger terms.  His speeches of late about giving diplomacy all the time it needs and working within the UN structure, etc. may play slighly better in a world that is already 85% against us (so what's the real point?), but it isn't playing well at all here with actual Voters.   That is all we speak with... actual Voters who vote in every cycle.  And the GOP is risking losing such voters to apathy because they are depressed with all that is going on (as the media portrays it) and do not see the point of their direct involvement.  Based on what they are saying -- the above points can drive enough of them back to the voting booth.  But Republicans just cannot skate through to Nov 7th "as is" or we will certainly lose the House and could lose the Senate.
